Hello my arty crafty friends. It has been a long time since I posted on my blog. Too long if I was to believe that my success as blogger depended on being more consistent, pin-worthy, sharable, likable and gathering a large following. Well, actually my success as a blogger does depend on those things, BUT not my success as a living, breathing being. So while keeping all things in perspective I’d like to welcome you to not only my first post in ages, but my new site too. That’s right. I have navigated my way through a name change and in case you missed it, the new name is Where Are My Scissors?

So what’s in a name? I have always been hesitant to use my name outright as my blog address. I can understand why it would be a good thing but it just never felt right for me. I pondered for a good long while about a name that would resonate with makers because that is what I am – a maker. Sometimes I art. Sometimes I craft. Sometimes I sew. I alter things. I make new things. And there is a legion of people who do the same. And if there is one thing we nearly all have in common, it is that we are really good at losing our scissors, especially when we were only just using them.

Changing my blog over to a new site was not the only thing I have learnt in these past few months. I have also faced up to one of my biggest fears. Video. And not just the recording of it but the whole editing shebang. It’s something I’ve been wanting to try for ages but fear of this new-to-me thing kept me low. So I applied for a Design Team for an art supply store to do a video demonstration. Because that’s what you do, right? When you’re afraid of that thing you put yourself out in front of it. And so I did. Wanna see?

Then get yourself over to here and check it out.  And thank you to Lulu Art РMixed Media Art Supplies for not only having a great place to get some hard to find art supplies in Australia, but believing I could do it, and that I had something worth sharing.

Always keep trying and never give up.
